Hedge Funds Really Do Care!

Location Date:

Last night, Hedge Funds Care Canada raised over $225,000 at its’ annual gala.  Now in its’ eighth year, HFCC has raised over $1.4 million in Canada for the prevention and treatment of child abuse.

Hedge Funds Care Canada is part of a global alliance that began 13 years ago in New York and has grown into an international nonprofit organization. To date, Hedge Funds Care has distributed over $23 million through more than 600 grants among its various chapters in Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, London, the Cayman Islands, Twin Cities, and Los Angeles.

Hedge Funds Care is proud to be the only business group solely devoted to combating child abuse, and in 13 years has made a powerful contribution to saving children. Because of the shame associated with child abuse, it remains a dramatically under-resourced and rarely discussed problem.  Many readers of this blog will have already seen in last few days on You Tube or in the mass media the beating of a the daughter by her father – a US judge – while the facts are still unclear, it does highlight a problem in society that needs to be addressed.

Congrats to Corey Goldman of Gluskin Sheff and his team for their tireless efforts here in Canada. As well I'd like to recognize Alana McEwen from RBC Capital Markets for her efforts. Both continue to raise the bar for this terrific charity.
